Nokia has unveiled a significant infrastructure development through its new deployment of a high-speed optical transport backbone network for MX Fiber. This initiative is set to transform Southeast Mexico by providing robust, high-capacity connectivity.
This future-proof network is expected to digitally empower the regions of Chiapas, Tabasco, and Quintana Roo, with plans to expand to Campeche and Veracruz. For these areas, which have long been devoid of adequate infrastructure, the network signifies a major leap forward. Communities, businesses, and government initiatives will benefit from rapidly improved internet services, enhanced cloud access, and better data-intensive application support. This promises a boost to economic revitalisation, offering modern services that can drive growth and opportunity.
Powered by Nokia's innovative Flex-Grid DWDM technology and the 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS), the network spans 1,800 km, presenting scalable services of 10G, 100G, and 200G. This connectivity ensures vital links to modern data centres, industrial hubs, and subsea transport points, all crucial for facilitating commerce, mobility, and digital inclusivity across the region.
The Nokia 1830 PSS solution offers an efficient pathway for service delivery, permitting seamless upgrades to 400G and 800G capacities without service disruptions. Additionally, with features like dynamic network management and real-time monitoring through Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry (OTDR), users are offered assurance of robust and future-ready connectivity.
