Paessler has acquired UVnetworks, known for network topology, inventory, and configuration backup solutions. The acquisition extends Paessler’s customer base, which is reported at over 30,000 customers and more than 500,000 users worldwide.
The integration adds UVexplorer to Paessler’s monitoring platform, PRTG Network Monitor. This expands functionality to support visibility across IT, OT, IoT, and cloud environments. UVexplorer contributes features such as automated network topology mapping, visualisation of network dependencies, and monitoring of configuration changes.
Key capabilities associated with the integration include:
These capabilities are intended to reduce manual investigation in troubleshooting and support earlier identification of potential operational issues. The combined platform also provides a basis for further development of automated analysis and remediation features.
In environments where infrastructure is complex and highly interconnected, UVexplorer’s integration into PRTG embeds topology, dependency, and configuration information into existing monitoring workflows. This is positioned as a way to improve contextual information available within monitoring systems.
UVexplorer is also available as UVexplorer Server, designed for larger and distributed network environments to support scalability and broader coverage.
PRTG Network Monitor has been available since 1997 and is used for monitoring and visibility of IT infrastructure, supporting performance tracking, cost optimisation, and downtime reduction. The platform is reported as being used by over 500,000 users in more than 190 countries.
