BlueVoyant partners with ODEON Cinemas Group to modernise cybersecurity operations

ODEON Cinemas Group has partnered with BlueVoyant to modernise its cybersecurity operations across Europe, improving visibility, response, and risk management.

BlueVoyant has announced a partnership with ODEON Cinemas Group (OCG) to unify and modernise OCG’s security operations across eight countries. The collaboration provides 24/7 monitoring, incident response, and improved third-party risk visibility, with the aim of reducing operational noise and supporting cyber resilience.

OCG operates more than 280 cinemas across Europe, serving millions of guests each year. The cinema exhibition sector faces increasing cyber risks, including disruptions to ticketing and concessions systems and potential customer data breaches, requiring a more integrated security approach.

With nearly 50 different log sources across its environment, OCG sought support to centralise security operations, improve visibility, and reduce pressure on regional information security teams.

OCG commissioned a BlueVoyant Security Diagnostic, which identified gaps in alert logic and Microsoft Defender XDR configurations, as well as limitations in its legacy SIEM that were contributing to costs without equivalent value. The findings informed a roadmap for modernising its security operations.

Following the diagnostic, OCG migrated from its legacy SIEM to Microsoft Sentinel, improving visibility and cost control, and was onboarded to BlueVoyant’s MDR for Microsoft service, supporting Sentinel and its existing Defender XDR deployment.

The partnership includes BlueVoyant’s UK&I-based Security Operations Centre (SOC), providing 24/7 monitoring aligned to OCG’s requirements. It also includes a Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) retainer for escalation support, containment, and assessments.

In addition, BlueVoyant provides third-party risk management (TPRM) services, including continuous supplier monitoring, pre-procurement assessments, and remediation support for key vendors.

As a result of the collaboration, OCG has reduced alert volumes, enabling regional teams to focus more on strategic work. The company reports a 98% reduction in alerts, alongside faster identification and containment of security issues supported by BlueVoyant’s DFIR capabilities.

The partnership has consolidated OCG’s previously fragmented security operations into a more unified operating model.
