Indigo Telecom Group has announced the appointment of Nick Barton as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). In this role, Barton will lead the company's commercial strategy, with responsibility for international growth and strategic relationships across subsea, data centre, cloud, carrier, fixed, and mobile networks.
Barton has more than 25 years of industry experience and most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer at Aqua Comms. His career also includes senior roles at Verizon Business and Colt Technology Services. At Indigo, he will align the company's commercial strategy with its unified global operating model, which is designed to support hyperscalers, carriers, subsea cable owners, and digital infrastructure providers.
Indigo's unified operating model spans more than 90 countries and integrates delivery, support, field engineering, and service operations to provide 24x7 operational coverage. The company says the model combines global capabilities with local expertise.
Barton's appointment comes as Indigo expands its global service capabilities. The company says his commercial experience, customer relationships, and background working with hyperscaler accounts and international connectivity will support its next phase of growth.
The appointment follows several recent developments at Indigo, including Heads of Terms with Aqua Comms and a partnership with Trans Pacific Networks, which are intended to support subsea operations across the US and Asia.
As Indigo continues to expand its international operations, the appointment of Barton as CRO forms part of the company's broader commercial and operational strategy.
