AtlasEdge has announced the development of LEV002, a new data centre in Leverkusen, located alongside its existing LEV001 facility. The project is intended to increase AtlasEdge’s capacity in Germany and support demand in the Rhineland region.

The LEV002 facility is planned to provide 4.4MW of capacity and around 3,400 square metres of technical space. Construction began in February 2026, with completion and readiness for service expected in the second quarter of 2027. The expansion follows increasing utilisation at LEV001, which is approaching full capacity, and reflects ongoing demand for colocation and high-performance infrastructure in the region.

The development is part of AtlasEdge’s broader growth strategy in European markets. The company states that it aims to provide infrastructure in locations where customers require connectivity and performance capabilities.

The facility is designed to support a range of workloads, including AI and high-density computing. It is planned to operate using renewable energy and is being developed in line with Germany’s Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG). The site is also expected to target industry certifications including EN 50600, ISO 27001, and ISO 9001.

Key details for LEV002 include:

  • 3,400 m² of data centre space
  • 4.4 MW capacity
  • Construction start: February 2026
  • Expected operational date: Q2 2027
  • Planned use of 100% renewable energy
  • Design focus on AI and high-density workloads
  • Targeted industry certifications
