Kao Data announced the acquisition of a site in Park Royal, West London. The site, formerly known as the Frogmore Industrial Estate, covers 4.7 acres and is planned for redevelopment into a data centre designed with sustainability and energy efficiency considerations.

The acquisition was completed in March 2026. The company has stated that the project will involve the design and construction of a 107,000 sq ft data centre located in one of the UK’s established cloud computing areas.

The development is being carried out in collaboration with the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) and local authorities. The project is intended to support computing infrastructure used across sectors such as life sciences, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and financial services.

Kao Data’s existing operations in Harlow, Slough, and Stockport include initiatives such as the Kao SEED Fund, which supports social enterprise and environmental projects, and the Kao Academy, which focuses on technology education in schools.

The company also supports the Good Things Foundation, which works on programmes aimed at helping communities engage with digital technologies, including AI.

Kao Data has stated that it intends to work with local stakeholders throughout the development process. Plans for the Park Royal site will be submitted through the formal planning process, with the site currently expected to become operational by 2029. Engagement with community representatives and residents is expected to continue in coordination with the OPDC.
