Stellanor, described as a UK urban data centre enterprise, has acquired a data centre in Hemel Hempstead. The facility was previously owned by Imagination Technologies and will remain in use supporting Imagination Technologies’ operations under Stellanor’s management.

The acquisition is part of Stellanor’s expansion from two to eleven facilities, reaching 39 MVA of secured grid capacity over a six-month period.

Stellanor’s strategy focuses on providing infrastructure for organisations with a range of digital requirements, including high-performance computing, AI workloads, and enterprise applications, with an emphasis on urban locations and infrastructure proximity.

Imagination Technologies, known for semiconductor development, continues to operate from the facility, with the infrastructure intended to support ongoing operational requirements.

The Hemel Hempstead site reflects wider demand for infrastructure capable of supporting AI workloads alongside traditional enterprise IT. Organisations are increasingly adopting infrastructure designed for scalability, connectivity, and resilience to support cloud and AI-based environments.

Stellanor’s portfolio includes data centres across several UK locations, including London, Reading, Cambridge, Woking, Gatwick, and West Yorkshire. The acquisition is also described as part of broader investment activity supporting data centre infrastructure across the UK and Nordic regions.

The development reflects continued demand for colocation and data centre capacity to support both AI-related and enterprise workloads in urban environments.
