NETSCOUT enhances remote and nGeniusONE observability solutions

NETSCOUT's latest solutions aim to improve observability in remote locations and streamline SSL/TLS certificate management, mitigating risks and enhancing digital resilience.

NETSCOUT SYSTEMS has introduced new features to enhance its observability platform, addressing gaps in remote site management and reducing risks associated with expired SSL/TLS certificates.

The updates to the nGeniusONE solution include real-time deep packet inspection (DPI) over Ethernet and Wi-Fi 7, providing greater visibility in remote locations. Improvements to SSL/TLS certificate monitoring aim to simplify management and minimise the risk of outages from expired certificates.

Remote Site Observability

The enhancements support enterprises in strengthening digital resilience and managing potential issues proactively. With Wi-Fi 7 adoption expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 61.5% between 2025 and 2030, driven by the need for high speeds and low latency, remote observability solutions must evolve alongside.

The nGenius Edge Sensors now include Wi-Fi 7 support while remaining backwards compatible with Wi-Fi 6E, 6, and 5. This enables IT teams to monitor applications at distributed sites and receive early warnings about emerging issues, helping maintain service continuity and operational performance. The solution provides visibility for both current and future Wi-Fi deployments. NETSCOUT has been recognised by Frost & Sullivan for innovation and impact on customers.

SSL/TLS Certificate Management

Enhanced certificate monitoring in nGeniusONE delivers real-time insights to maintain valid SSL certificates, detect certificates nearing expiry, and identify unknown certificates on non-standard ports or introduced via shadow IT. This approach reduces the risk of unplanned outages and supports secure communications.

SSL/TLS certificates authenticate websites, servers, and services while enabling encrypted communication. Research by the Ponemon Institute shows that over 50% of organisations are unaware of all certificates in their systems. Mismanaged or expired certificates can cause outages, financial loss, and reputational impact. Manual management is increasingly difficult due to shorter certificate lifespans and the growth of hybrid, cloud, and third-party environments.
