SimpliVity announces the appointment of experienced IT and virtualization sales executive Alfonso Ramirez as Regional Director in Spain and Portugal. Ramirez has more than 30 years' experience leading regional enterprise IT sales for ServiceNow, VMware, BEA systems (now Oracle), Cisco, IBM and Lucent Technologies.
"Alfonso has superior experience helping companies leverage new technologies to improve their operations. SimpliVity's hyperconverged infrastructure offers customers significant OPEX savings and operational efficiencies, and we look forward to spreading that message in Iberia," said Joël Mollo, Regional Director Southern Europe, SimpliVity. "We expect to quickly succeed and grow the Spain and Portugal business with Alfonso leading the region."
Alfonso commented on his new role: "I am delighted to be on board, and to lead SimpliVity's growth in the Spanish and Portuguese markets. Businesses have benefited greatly from the adoption of virtualization, and I look forward to helping them take the next logical step to simplify their IT infrastructure with SimpliVity's state-of-the-art hyperconverged solutions."
Alfonso began his career designing storage control circuits for IBM mainframes, and has helped businesses leverage the benefits of new disruptive technologies such as virtualization and cloud computing ever since. In 2005, he helped establish VMware's Iberian operations, which he ran until 2012, before serving as the Iberian Director for ServiceNow.
Starting immediately, he will draw upon his extensive market knowledge to increase SimpliVity's market penetration and to recruit new partners in Spain and Portugal. Alfonso will lead Iberian sales strategy with support from local sales and solution architects.
