Tricentis and SAP reveals AI-powered testing solutions for enhanced quality assurance

Tricentis introduces AI-driven test case generation for SAP environments, enhancing quality assurance with reduced effort and costs.

Tricentis, a company in quality engineering, has launched SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing (ECT) by Tricentis, which includes AI-assisted automated test case generation. The launch represents an expansion of the collaboration between Tricentis and SAP, delivering a specialised AI product designed for SAP environments through an SAP Solution Extension.

Unlike general AI testing tools, this solution is designed specifically for SAP systems and supports the generation of automated test cases compatible with SAP ECT, which is part of SAP’s broader testing and quality toolchain. The offering is intended to support organisations in managing ongoing system changes while maintaining operational assurance within SAP environments.

The integration of AI capabilities allows SAP ECT users to use SAP AI Units to generate test cases within the ECT framework. It is designed to integrate AI-based testing into SAP workflows without requiring additional tools or complex setup. This approach is positioned to reduce manual testing effort and associated costs, while also accelerating testing cycles.

The AI-based features include the ability to:

  • Create end-to-end test cases using natural language inputs
  • Use AI-based quality assurance agents to design, build, and refine test requirements
  • Generate tests aligned with business processes
  • Implement and scale automated tests using SAP AI Units
  • Reduce maintenance requirements through self-adjusting test mechanisms

At SAP Sapphire Orlando, Tricentis demonstrated approaches to risk-based quality assurance during transformation initiatives, and its role within SAP’s toolchain. The presentation included integrations that enable reuse of models from SAP Signavio, connected through SAP Cloud ALM. This setup is intended to align testing more closely with business processes and improve traceability across systems.

Additionally, Tricentis introduced updates to its SAP Change Impact Analysis tool, including a cloud deployment option enhanced with SeaLights ABAP. These updates provide code-level impact analysis to help identify affected processes, prioritise areas of risk, and reduce unnecessary testing.
