Scaling AI inference across a global cloud network

Cloudflare and JD Cloud collaborate to enhance global AI infrastructure, significantly reducing latency and improving developer access to the China market.

Cloudflare, a connectivity cloud company, and JD Cloud, an intelligent technology service provider affiliated with JD.com, have announced a partnership enhancement. Their combined efforts aim to establish a global platform for developers, enabling them to deploy, manage, and scale AI inference workloads with ease.

The past three years have seen a surge in the demand for geographically distributed AI-driven applications. To address this, Cloudflare and JD Cloud aim to deliver a unified networking experience expected to reduce latency for AI inference tasks by as much as 80 per cent. Their enhanced collaboration hopes to forge a global, high-performance AI Cloud, fostering connections between global developers and the Chinese market, whilst also bridging Chinese developers to the rest of the world.

This expansion builds on a strong foundation established over the past five years. Cloudflare’s intelligent global platform is integrated with JD Cloud’s robust infrastructure, facilitating a unified experience where customers can activate a presence in China with just a few clicks, without code alterations. Traffic originating from Chinese users is automatically directed to local data centres operated by JD Cloud, while other global traffic is routed to the nearest Cloudflare location worldwide. This setup hopes to enhance security, speed, and reliability by utilising Cloudflare's comprehensive security services, including their Web Application Firewall (WAF), Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) mitigation, and global Content Delivery Network (CDN).

JD Cloud recognises that Cloudflare's mission aligns with its commitment to providing top-tier services to partners and customers. By leveraging the extensive experience of JD.com across diverse business scenarios alongside advanced technological and logistical capabilities, this partnership ensures that JD Cloud remains at the forefront of offering market-leading services to users and businesses globally.
