Interxion adds City Cloud to its Cloud Connect Platform

High availability, low latency and secure interconnectivity to City Networks City Cloud now available across Europe.

INTERXION HOLDING NV says that City Cloud, City Networks’ OpenStack-based public infrastructure, has joined its Cloud Connect platform. Enterprise customers can now interconnect directly with City Cloud through City Connect. This enables customers to extend their network with high speed and secure connections to City Cloud points of presence in Interxion’s Stockholm, London and Frankfurt campuses.
By connecting to City Connect through the Cloud Connect platform, Interxion customers will have a reliable and high performance VPN connection to City Cloud. At the same time, this enables enterprises to easily maintain fully redundant infrastructure and build systems that span multiple service providers across Europe. City Cloud customers can also take advantage of the Cloud Connect platform and gain access to other cloud service providers available on the platform.
·  According to IDC, European businesses are taking control of IT transformation with new infrastructure solutions. Digital leaders are far ahead of other companies in their use of hybrid cloud: 77% of them use or plan to use hybrid and/or multi-cloud environments.
·  City Network is a gold member of the OpenStack Foundation, providing funding and aligning to the OpenStack mission. Using OpenStack for its public IaaS, City Cloud enables a wide range of benefits like high performance, open API’s and no vendor lock-in.
·  To meet industry specific demands for high security and availability, both City Cloud and Interxion comply with ISO standards and industry-specific regulations. By combining City Cloud and Cloud Connect, organisations can comply with demands originating from laws and regulations concerning auditing, reputability, data handling and data security such as Basel II and Solvency II.
