Netscan becomes the latest CSP to certify against the CIF Code of Practice

Award-winning web host champions cloud industry best practice scheme.

APM Group, the Cloud Industry Forum’s (CIF) independent certification partner, has announced that Netscan, a cloud hosting specialist, has successfully self-certified against the CIF Code of Practice (CoP), signalling their commitment to best practice in transparency, accountability and capability.

Netscan provides comprehensive internet solutions for business, from website hosting and domain name registration, to cloud services and corporate brand protection through a number of online brands (including nativespace). Operating from offices in London and Hebden Bridge, the company has grown rapidly from its origins in Cheshire in 1998 and now has customers all over the world. The business has grown on the strength of high-quality services and round-the-clock support from world-class technicians.

The Code of Practice enables participating vendors to promote online confidence and trust in their brand to the end user community by ensuring that they offer end users appropriate transparency about their business and services, commitment to operational capabilities and practices, and executive accountability for the declarations made to achieve Certification. In turn, this provides the end user confidence that they can access relevant and meaningful information in a structured way that has been accepted by CIF to allow for rational assessment.

Peter Duggal, Managing Director at Netscan, said: “The industry is clearly in need of standards. Cloud has come to mean all things to everyone, making it difficult for end users to know exactly what they are signing up for. CIF’s Code of Practice aims to make it easier for cloud users to cut through the jargon and easily identify CSPs that are upfront, honest and transparent about the services that they offer and their capabilities. We are deeply committed to best practice and, as such, are very pleased to have achieved this certification.”

Richard Pharro, APM Group’s CEO, added: “By measuring themselves against the Code of Practice, Netscan has demonstrated a professional commitment to operate in a transparent and accountable manner. With a market looking for clear guidance to measure suppliers against, the Code of Practice and the Certification process are essential in building trust.”
